New British product EndoTherm, an energy reducer for domestic and commercial gas central heating systems, has recently won 2 major awards. The first for ‘The Big Innovation Pitch’ at the recent Ecobuild Exhibition. Chris Marney, head of engineering and energy efficiency, Marks and Spencer, said: “EndoTherm’s potential to improve M&S’s heating efficiency and drive down gas consumption won it for them. We were extremely impressed with all the finalists and had a tough decision selecting just one winner. The M&S & Ecobuild Big Innovation Pitch has been a fantastic platform to witness innovations from small suppliers. EndoTherm have also won the H&V News award for Domestic Sustainable Product of the year. The H&V News Awards are the most admired and coveted awards for the building services sector. Now in their 21st year, the awards provide industry recognition and unrivalled networking opportunities. Announced by Dennis Flower (H&V News Editor) and presented by Bill Turnbull (BBC) EndoTherm was singled out as being a ‘truly exciting product that is expected to have a major impact in energy use in both domestic and commercial heating systems’.

EndoTherm has been tested by Enertek International (independent R&D Company). The Average UK household spends £753 on gas bills (18th December 2014, DECC annual domestic energy bills). EndoTherm saves 15% (Enertek). This equates to typical savings of £112.95 per year, and a typical payback of four months.

Declaration of product performance

Direct comparison tests with and without EndoTherm in the system water indicate that the gas consumption of the boiler in the heating system can be reduced by up to 15%. This empirical evidence indicates that the addition of EndoTherm can significantly reduce gas consumption and therefore CO2.

Corrosion inhibitor compliance

The addition of EndoTherm to a solution of corrosion inhibitor in both hard and soft water application doesnot affect the corrosion inhibition on mild steel, aluminium or copper.

Anti-scaling and silencing

Use of EndoTherm allows the heating system to be maintained at its most effective operating conditions by reducing internal scaling as well as reducing noise levels. The product has also been tested by University of Lancashire, Tomorrow’s Air Solutions and Meadowhead
Consultancy Ltd.
