RCI Consulting company has completed the project on modernization of the hotel TV system for Hyatt Regency Kyiv 5 * hotel (IPTV broadcasting on the base of interactive hotel TV system).

The hotel has already installed Quadriga interactive hotel TV system, but the quality of analog headend broadcasting doesn’t match the quality and flexibility requirements. Equipment occupied a considerable area, consume large amount of electricity, was technologically outdate and, therefore, the necessity of installation of digital television IPTV station was evident.

RCI Consulting company has also been tasked to develop and implement the TV system concept that allows remotely to change the list and the number of TV channels (without installation additional devices in the hotel). This problem is actual for all hotels that has foreign guests. Guests prefer usually to watch their national TV channels.

Hyatt Regency Kyiv hotel presented a list of more than 50 basic TV channels. To minimize the expenses for organizing of TV channels reception RCI Consulting experts decided to organise a reception from several sources: DVB-T2, satellite and telecom service provider.

As a technical solutions of digital IPTV station universal modular IP-platform WISI Tangram was chosen, that allows to receive signals in any standards: DVB-S/S2/C/T/T2 and converts them into SPTS/MPTS-streams for IPTV broadcasting system. The deployment reduced power consumption of the TV station by means of reduction of the quantity of equipment, and positive impacted on the energy efficiency of a central air.

IPTV channels are broadcast from the station to the core of Quadriga system via Cisco switch, that also has Querier function. More than 10 coded channels with different frequencies from provider are decoded by means of only two cards and multiservice modules CONAX.

In the framework of the project was also upgraded the reception and distribution part of the antenna complex. All the preparatory works, as well as installation and configuration of the system were carried out by RCI Consulting in the night-time that minimized inconvenience for the guests.

The hotel has 234 rooms (including 25 deluxe “suite”). The hotel also has a spa, swimming pool, sauna, several bars, restaurants, conference rooms, etc.
